Frontier Silicon strengthens its position in DAB Automotive by joining Infotainment Alliance GENIVI
Las Vegas – 7th January 2010: Frontier Silicon, the leading supplier of digital radio technology, today announces it has joined the Automotive Infotainment Alliance GENIVI. GENIVI is a consortium founded by leading car manufacturers and suppliers who want to speed up the development and the overall use of an open In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) platform in the car.
Anthony Sethill, CEO of Frontier Silicon explains “As the leading supplier of Eureka-147 based receiver technologies, Frontier brings a wealth of DAB, DAB+ and DMB-Radio experience to the GENIVI Alliance. These standards are at the forefront of the migration from analogue to digital radio which is already underway in Europe and Australia. In-car digital radio is central to any successful migration so it’s logical to offer the WorldDMB radio profiles as part of an open IVI platform from day one.”

Frontier has recently strengthened its Automotive business unit including automotive specialists in technical support, automotive quality and project management. The business unit operates world-wide with local offices in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Japan.
