Frontier Silicon reaches 10 million milestone in DAB sales worldwide

Sales to double in the next three years driven by new market growth

London – 2nd February 2010: Frontier Silicon, the leading supplier of DAB digital radio technology, announces that it has reached a record 10 million sales in DAB systems worldwide. 

With over 12 million DAB units already in circulation – and with this total growing by more than two to three million per year – Frontier Silicon expects to reach 20 million sales in less than half the time it has taken to reach 10 million.

Japan remains a very significant market for home audio products and international automotive systems for car giants such as Toyota and Nissan.
Anthony Sethill, Chief Executive of Frontier Silicon, said: “This landmark 10 million sales figure is a big step forward for DAB.   Japan is home to some of the world’s leading audio brands and car manufacturers.  With Frontier’s technology, our Japanese customers are able to enjoy the benefits of selling their class-leading products into growing DAB markets around the world.”

Frontier recently opened an office in Tokyo providing customers with a dedicated country manager and technical support staff. The new office operates alongside and in support of Sanshin Electronics Ltd. who are the distributors of Frontier products in Japan.
